Following on from the success of the NTDA Conference in Marbella in September the Association has decided to hold a follow up event in Harrogate alongside Brityrex next Spring.
The Association felt it would be beneficial to hold an interim event to provide an opportunity to up date the Industry on how the many actions arising from the September event were progressing.

Partnership spells success for UK dealer network
Just 12 months after the launch of the Group Tyre/Subaru (UK) Limited tyre programme, over 50% of the UK dealer network are regular users of the dedicated service which see factory-approved/OE replacement tyres supplied on a same-day basis, whatever the location. Said Group Tyre (UK) Ltd Director of Car Sales Terry Cuttell, "Owners of vehicles like the Impreza WRX have been given a massive 'thumbs-up' to this service, which provides them with manufacturer-approved tyres and a totally professional fitting service through their local dealership on a same-day basis







Tyre Recall

BF Goodrich is recalling some of its 4x4 tyres after six LJtyres sold in North America experienced vibration, noise and ride problems. A total of 3,500 tyres are believed to be affected worldwide.
No accidents or injuries have been caused by the defect. As a precaution BFGoodrich has begun recalling all 46,000 tyres manufactured at the same time as the defective seriesbetween 11 and 24 April 2004-at the Fort Wayne plant in Indiana, United States.

2005 a year of caution
A survey by Plimsoll Publishing has revealed that the top 1000 companies in the UK Tyres, Exhausts & Batteries industry are in one of four different moods based on their current financial strength. It appears that 36% seem to be entering 2005 in a cautious mood. "There is evidence that these concerns are justified, with 43% of this year's entrants suffering a fall in profit since last year's study".
